Well…actually any ad that you promote anywhere needs to be taken into consideration for that matter.
So, here are some guidelines that you should follow:
We are going to use my Niche Sites on Facebook called…
Cool Bull Dog Stuff- A site where I post cute bulldog puppies pics of my dog and just some random pics of other bulldogs that give me a good laugh. This site gives info about training your bulldog here and there but is mainly to promote my bulldog store.
“Cool Bull Dog Stuff” leads to my bulldog niche site, where I sell various cool bulldog stuff, which is called coolbulldogstuff.com.
The site use to be called “Train Your Bull Dog Puppy” but I changed it to Cool Bulldog Stuff, after building my bulldog niche site, so the pictures below for this case-study, will show the pics under the old name that I had it under.
Ok, let’s get started…
Step 1: Do a test Boost Post for $5
Doing a test first is a sure way to see how good your ad will convert before you go start spending the BIG BUCKS!
This also will give you valuable information about what the market is doing depending on who you targeted in that ad.
You can try 2 different scenarios by selecting the people on your fan page and their friends (see Image 1) with one test and doing another test with the same ad but, setting up it up to target a certain demographic. (see Image 2)
Step 2: Compare to see which boost gave better results
As you can tell from the images, I already have some fans on my fan page so I can target them and their friends using this feature. If you don’t have fans you can quickly get some by just doing a boost with keywords such as: dogs, train dogs, bulldogs, etc.
On that particular Facebook Boost Post shown in Image 1, you can see that I used the Target Group “People who like you page and their friend”
I spent $5 and reached 492 people. Out of that 492 people, 26 of those people took action and did something. 5 people click on the puppy pic. 2 people clicked on the link. And 1 person liked the page.
Now, on Facebook Boost Post Image 2, you can see that for my Target Group I used keywords to target that demographic by using these keywords: American pit Bull Terrier, Dogs, Puppy, French Bulldog, Dog Training.
I spent $5 and reached 985 people. Out of that 985 people, 68 of those took action and did something. We can see that 3 people clicked the puppy picture and 65 people liked it.
So, as you can see by targeting your specific niche using keywords that pertain to the niche your in, you can get way better results, but in this case it was and uneven match because it wasn’t the same add. One ad had the e-book link to buy, but the other just had a cute puppy pic. And that’s why I say to use the same ad when doing this test.
Step 3: Find a winning ad and up the ad spend
Now, before you take your budget to the next level there are some things that you want to consider. Just because you are reaching people still doesn’t mean that your ads are converting.
So, what you need to do is make sure you are either getting opt-ins from your ads or getting paid (making sales).
Once this is established you can then move up to an actual ad campaign instead of just doing a page boost to reach even more people.
*TIP: Facebook does not like “make money from home ads”, and there is a big chance, that you will get band if you try and promote them.
And yes, I also mean if you are in the Internet Marketing Niche!
What you have to do is find a niche to promote first, and get them on your list, then you can promote you Internet Marketing products to them.
They don’t seem to mind boost as much in the Internet Marketing Niche, as long as it’s linking to a blog that gives value towards that niche, but I wouldn’t do a boost or create an ad for ‘making money online.’
Just follow the same steps above when doing your Facebook ad campaigns.
